Calling all festival goers… the Western Downs plays host to THREE festivals all within a five week period in August through September.
Kicking off with Dalby’s DeLIGHTful & Delicious festival, followed by a jam-packed program from the Miles Back to Bush festival and finishing up with a long weekend of camping and Australian rock music at our Big Skies festival.
Dalby’s Delicious & DeLIGHTful Festival – 26 and 27 of August
Embrace and celebrate multiculturalism and inclusivity with live performances, an activity filled program and a multitude of flavours from around the globe on offer.
Experience the wonderment as the usually tranquil banks of the Myall Creek are transformed into a spectacular lantern parade and fireworks display lighting up the star filled skies, illuminating the giant Gum trees and reflecting in the dancing ripples of the Myall.
The vibrancy of Dalby’s Delicious & DeLIGHTful Festival attracts locals and visitors alike and we look forward to seeing you there.
Miles Back to the Bush – 7 to 10 September
Every two years the Miles community celebrate life in the bush and invite visitors to experience their warm country hospitality at Miles Back to the Bush Festival. Quintessential bush celebrations are delivered with a fun vintage twist, with many of the festival events held at the most incredible venue – in and behind the Miles Historical Village!
There’s lots of camping available in Miles for the influx of visitors in town for 4-days of festival fun. Highlights on the program include the Tough Bugger Competition and Little Bugger Challenge, Tractor Pull, Vintage Warplanes and Street Parade, plus a huge program across the full 4-days, with everything from wildflower and farm tours to a mini beer festival, arena horse show, regional bus tours, beard competition, hay bale tossing, markets and so much more.
Big Skies Festival – 28 September to 2 October
The award winning Big Skies Festival is back in 2023, with a star-studded line-up of iconic artists! Headliners: ESKIMO JOE, THE ANGLES, DIESEL, BABY ANIMALS, THIRSTY MERC, ROGUE TRADERS & O’SHEA.
The location… well that’s a star in itself, the stunningly grand grounds of Jimbour House set against the big skies of the Western Downs.
Beyond the two days of live music on the main stage experience regional bus tours, chill out at happy hour at the hangar, sit by the fire at the camp kitchen or take a tour inside Jimbour House.
